Nucleocapsid protein (NP) is the most abundant protein on the helical nucleocapsid of coronaviruses (SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19), which envelopes the entire viral genomic RNA. NP also interacts with other viral structural proteins and plays important roles during host cell entry, virus particle assembly and release.

This antibody was produced from rabbits immunized with a recombinant SARS-CoV-2 NP. It was affinity purified with recombinant SARS-CoV-2 NP as an affinity ligand.
